Lucky me

Just the other night while I was eating dinner I bit down on a piece of Chicken and heard a crunch. Those of you that have ever broken a tooth in this manner know exactly what that noise sounds like. Now I should mention that I am a total and complete wuss when it comes to dental pain. I turn into what my wife calls, “Angry Bear” when I have a toothache and I tend to take it out with a passion on anyone foolish enough to engage me in conversation.

When can I get in to my Dentist? Next Monday. I have four days left in my work week. Operation Maple Flag is JUST getting under way which brings around 5000 Military Personnel into town from various countries around the world. This means we are busier than normal at the Restaurant and that leads to stress. Stress leads to pain and none of my coworkers have ever seen “Angry Bear”. I warned them and they all just laughed. We’ll see how many of them are alive and if I still have a job by the weeks end if my tooth truly starts to hurt.

My own wife, bless her, has a hard time putting up with me when I get like this.

Flares from the beyond

Hiya folks,

Just wanted to fire off a Flare to let folks know there was still some life over here. We’re down two full time people in the Kitchen at work right now so it’s been pretty ridiculous. By way of example, we were at $16k in Sales when I left tonight at 8 P.M. which is pretty busy for us on the weekend, not a record but definitely busy. Tomorrow (Sunday) there are usually 7 of us to ‘repair’ the damage from the Saturday night rush. But those two people we are missing are Sunday folks so that leaves Five of us to fix 16k+ worth of sales. Wee.

Finally managed to lay hands on a copy of Final Fantasy Crisis Core for the PSP yesterday. EB Games let me down big time. Turned out the game WAS in stores on the date I previously mentioned just not in this EB Games because their Shipment got missed. Not only did it not show up on time…it got missed for another 3 bloody Days! So I asked my wife to check at the Department Store where she works and sure enough there it was. So as much as I want to support stores like EB Games over the Big Box Retailers I asked her to get it.

New PC

So I finally got my new PC, not the ideal one but a decent one…at least sort of…

It’s a Dell XPS 420, Core 2 Duo, 3 Gigs Ram, 256 Meg PCI Radeon 2600 XT.

Unfortunately….it has Vista as well. I can’t say enough horrible things about my brief experience with Vista. I think the first Question it should ask you right out of the Box is “Are you an Idiot?”

If you answer “No” it should automatically turn off all the Child Safety crap it forces down your throat right then and there.  The whole “All or Nothing” protection scheme they use is just ludicrous to say the least.

So far my games are doing alright, Hellgate is not as awesome looking as I had hoped it would be but it’s better than it was so I won’t gripe much about that. DX10 Sucks in it’s entirety. Web pages take at least 5-10 seconds longer to load with Vista because it downloads the page then ‘verifies’ it before you get to see it…

Tattoo Day

So early this morning I went down to my local Tattoo shop and had some fun with Vern. Can’t say enough about the man he’s awesome. We had to make a few changes to my tattoo in order to get it to sit where I wanted it too. Originally the design called for some pretty intricate Tribal work on surrounding the Sharingan symbol but I knew going in that I would probably lose that because Tribal is a bit overdone these days. So I let Vern have a free hand at it and he gave me an awesome looking Shuriken surrounding the pattern!

It hurts but no more so than my last one did, basically feels like a sunburn at the moment. I took an additional day off work to let it get right into the healing process before I go back.

Blogging Newbishness

Once again I embark upon the Blog world like a newborn babe left in the wilderness. Thankfully I have many and varied friends on the interbaun to pester, prod and demand advice from so bear with me whilst I settle in and learn exactly how WordPress works its magic.
